IPC-A-610
The IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries® is regarded as the de-facto authority on PCB design, fabrication and assembly. As a global trade association it is dedicated to promoting it's 2000+ member companies. As a standards body it produces numerous standards that have been adopted worldwide as the best practice benchmark.
Specifically, the IPC-A-610 standard for PCB assembly sets out criteria for the visual acceptability of the finished product based on a set of classes from Acceptable (Class 1) to the Best (Class 3).
To support this standard and to certify its correct implementation BSI introduced the Kitemark licence scheme for IPC-A-610.
To qualify for this licence companies must have suitable quality systems in place and also be able to demonstrate their ability to manufacture products to the relevant class standard.
Norcott EMS holds a Kitemark Licence for it's complete range of assembly services to Class 3.
